耶律楚材随成吉思汗西征（1219-1226），足迹远涉撒马尔罕，其丝绸之路行旅诗开创性地描绘了西域景观。他既以雄浑笔力刻画自然奇观，又以全新视角一扫传统西域书写的荒寒意象，细腻展现田园恬静与丰饶生活，开拓了丝路行旅诗的审美维度。同时，其诗敏锐地捕捉丝路独特物候，并将元日、清明等节令书写融入乡愁与文化思考。他以主客双重身份行走丝路，以独特的眼光审视丝路文化，摄取丝路风光，赋诗吟咏，抒情写志，其于元代丝绸之路行旅诗具有开创性意义，为元代丝路诗写下了浓墨重彩的一笔，富有地理纪实、情感抒怀与文化交融的多元价值。

Yelu Chucai accompanied Genghis Khan on his Western expedition(1219–1226), traveling as far as Samarkand. His poems about the Silk Road journey innovatively depicted the landscape of the Western Regions. He not only depicted natural wonders with powerful brushstrokes but also subverted the traditional image of the desolate Western Regions with a fresh perspective, delicately presenting the idyllic tranquility and rich vitality of the grassland, thus opening up the aesthetic dimension of Silk Road poetry. Meanwhile, his poems sensitively capture the unique phenology of the Silk Road and incorporate the writing of festivals such as Qingming and New Year's Day into profound homesickness and cultural reflection. He traveled along the Silk Road as both a host and a guest, examined the culture of the Silk Road with a unique perspective, captured the scenery of the Silk Road, composed poems and expressed his emotions and aspirations. His travel poetry on the Silk Road in the Yuan Dynasty was of pioneering significance, leaving a rich and colorful mark on the poetry of the Yuan Silk Road and profoundly embodying the diverse values of geographical documentation, emotional expression, and cultural integration.
